Really good, reasonably priced, Italian food. Although the scowling gentleman with the black ball cap that roams the dining room doesn't make one feel welcome, my servers were friendly and attentive. On the negative side: this is a dated establishment, something out of the 70s. Layers of dust cling to the tacky plastic plants, and over head fans. The well worn carpet needs replacing. The men's room's sink fixture are rotted away and looked to be caked with rust and grime. With a little attention to cleanliness, and updated decor, this would be a four-star restaurant.

We were so disappointed. Bad service, no water, dusty plants hanging everywhere.

Antonio's food has the best tasting Italian food I have eaten in all of South Florida. I have tried 5 different dishes so far and have loved every one of them. The fish is fresh and the Pizza is as close to NY as I have eaten yet. Best of all, the place is priced very moderately which makes the food taste even better! If you are ever in the area, I definitely recommend dropping by Antonio's. I am already looking forward to meal #6.

My first bad review.. they definitely deserved it! So angry at this place! My friends and I were super hungry and we spotted this place so decided to give it a try. No one acknowledged us. We stood by the counter for a few and finally decided to ask the gentlemen behind the counter if we could be seated. He said there was a wait (in a rude manner). So much for customer service! we walked out.

If your bill is over 50 dollars they add 20 percent tip to the bill. Also tell them to drain the water out of the pasta.

I would rate this place 3.5 if I could. It has decent and cheap Italian food. The pizza attempts to be NY style and is pretty good. I think that the problem is in the crust. It is kind of tasteless and a bit soggy. Their garlic rolls/knots are delicious! The angel hair with calamari and sundried tomatoes is a random combination but surprisingly good! The carbonara was kind of flavorless, and with all of that bacon grease I would expect some flavor!! Their garlic salad dressing is creamy but almost bitter because of all the raw garlic. I was shocked when I ordered pasta fagioli and received something that looked and tasted like a can of warm cannellini beans. Overall, because of the value, this place is an above average italian restaurant in Florida. I wont give Antonio's a higher review because the owner is such a cranky man. He is not even friendly to his regulars which is just ridiculous. I've also heard that he yells at his employees in front of his customers which is NEVER ok! So unprofessional! Also, the place could use a little makeover. The hanging plants coming from the ceiling do not add anything to the decor!

I've been twice. Both times I ordered eggplant dishes and both times the eggplant was not cooked properly. The garlic rolls were burnt the last time I came, and the service took forever. The restaurant never really has anyone in it to begin with. The salad dressing is so-so. The house vinaigrette doesn't have much flavor other than oil. My eggplant dishes weren't good but I did try the white pizza, that my brother ordered, and that was actually really good. Ricotta base with olives, mushrooms, and tomatoes on top. If you're going to eat at this place I would suggest the pizza, but keep in mind it is a crisper finish than most pizza places down here.

Awful! My friends and I went in on a Friday night. Walked to the counter. They don't even greet us. Have to ask for a menu, wait... Not a smile, not a we'll be right with you nothing. We all wanted different toppings on our pizza so asked if we could get sliced instead, with an annoyed look and tone the guy behind the counter asks "are you eating in or takeout". We say eating in, he looks at us, motions us to move and tells us we have to wait. Since we were never shown a table or good service, or manners, we left vowing to never come in again.

My family and I have been going there for many years... The food has always been great and the service is more than wonderful... Darcey treats us like family, and that's the way an Italian joint is supposed to be... EVERYTHING on that menu is fantastic.... And the special menu is quite the charm too!!! Sea Bass is fantastic, and now the Tilipia is one I write home about.... It is a quiaint little place with faantastic Italian cooking.... Like it or not, it's worth a try... #smalljoints#alwaysgreat

First of all the food was good! Otherwise NOT a great experience, but we laughed the whole time about how terrible everything was. Well, first of all we made a reservation for 8 people. We showed up and it was pretty crazy. Pandemonium. That usual can be good AND bad. So I ask a lady that is seating people and checking off names/servers on a white board, and telling the servers where to sit people, "Are you the hostess?" She looked and me and chuckled, "No, can I help you?" I said "We had the reservation for 7:00." She said "Ok, give us a minute." Then a guy with a Polo shirt comes towards the front of the restaurant and starts arguing with a couple other employees about where people are sitting. "Who sat those people there? That is where the reservation goes!" Then he walks right up to the table and questions them as who sat them. The man points to a guy sitting, looking at his laptop (who we later discovered was the owner) and the rude employee says, "No he can't sit you.. I need this table. Someone will have to sit you." The couple at the table asked who would sit them and the rude guy, just says "I WILL!" The owner acted like he didn't see any of this happening. So we get seated at the table was stolen from another couple. Then it got worse... Our son's food never came. They didn't put it into the computer....Took a long time to even get a server... People were coming in and out of the kitchen complaining incessantly about other employees...lots of customers were walking out because they were ignored. The credit card machine was broken and nobody had cash... Took an hour for the food to come (nothing for my son) All the while the owners were ignoring everything around them and talking on their cell phones and laptops.... It was a big mess! The server said the owners were new, and they are lawyers that don't have a clue about the restaurant business, and the rude guy in the kitchen is the previous owner. That explains a lot.

This place is AWFUL!!!!!! Came in on Tuesday night at 9pm. No one was even in there & we came in with a group of 20. U would think they would be happy to have business on a Tuesday night but the waitress had attitude right from the start! Dingy dirty horrible excuse for Italian food. Absolutely rude service & disrespectful. DON'T GO HERE!!! Disgraceful!!!! Terrible

This is one of my favorite all time Italian restaurants. Not for those who want nouveau or fusion cuisine or a South Beach atmosphere. Just old fashioned southern Italian standards. The staff are friendly and eager to please. The food is excellent with over generous portions. The music ranges from Frank Sinatra to opera. The wine list is limited but nothing on it will break the bank. A selection of fish specials every night. The Francese sauce over any fish or meat is great and fried calamari should not be missed. The pizza is New York style****. You can't leave here without a smile on your face and feeling stuffed while carrying out a doggy bag. I have been coming here for 14 years.

Terrible experience!!! My family and I walked in and weren't even acknowledged. We over looked this and sat ourselves. Our waiter, Rick, was great. He had a great attitude and you can tell he wanted to give us a great experience. However, as we began to order, Rick (our server), came back 3 times to tell us that our items were not available. Deciphering that all the items we had selected were exhausted I decided to go with the special. I requested the Lobster Ravioli but desired to have a piece of fish(tilapia) added to the dish. This too was a problem. Rick, was repremanded by either the cook/manager/owner and we heard every word. I'll spare the details but know it was very unpleasant. The guy was so upset he walked towards our table to see who we were and walked outside as if it wasn't onvious. I almost thought we were going to have a real problem. Then he sent Rick back to our table saying that the additional piece of tilapia was going to cost us another $14. I kindly thanked, Rick, and handed him a $20 tip in gratitude for his great service and told him that that was strike 3 for me and that all I wanted was a piece of fish to add protein to the dish but didn't want to pay for another entree. I'll pay more for the fish but not $14. He saw my point and went back to "negotiate" my options and returned the bill I had handed him. It was apparent that he was a good guy and wanted to keep us happy. This, of course, turned into another argument amongst the staff with Rick getting the short end of the stick and it made me sick for we overheard everyhting. I told my family I was done and we all rose and thanked Rick for his efforts and told him that we weren't there to cause anyone any headaches so we were going somewhere else. I feel terrible for the guy and will never return to this establishment nor will I recommend it to anyone. I have lived in Boca for over 20 years and I frequent many restaurants in the area. If you wish to have great Italian food I recommend Vino and Merlino's in East Boca and Frank and Dino's in the Deerfield/Lighthouse Point area. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this toilet and save yourself a headache.

Watch out for waiters that add a 20% tip and don't tell you about it. Apparently, they do this for all meals over $50. New to me and not stated on menu . Any restaurant where you have to ask for a clean fork should not be commanding a 20% tip. See other comments about the condition of the rest rooms.

Good Italian food. The waitress (Linda) was great and the prices are excellent. Loved the garlic rolls, eggplant parm, baked ziti an spaghetti! From Virginia and will definitely return when we visit mom again, loved it!

Arrogant staff & owner. They don't care about their customers satisfaction. Another place where they think they have an endless supply of customers and it shows.

Don't waste your time making reservations at this place. because it doesn't make a difference. Our party of four was greeted by a crabby old guy who never asked if we had a reservation and then he when on to tell us how bad his day was going and that he had just taken a Zanex...I encouraged him to take several pill so that he would get out of my face! What an a..hole!! Our waiter was very nice-he saved the night although we were disappointed to find out that the pasta is pre-cooked Ugh! The most surprising thing was that this place was packed, go figure? While we dined several other customers were greeted by the same crabby old guy who I found out later was named Alex. The food was not worth listening to Alex rant and rave about his lousy day. Next time I want Italian food I'll travel a mile further toward the beach to Amante's and be greeted by a friendly staff and dine on great food!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
